Description: Help Desk Support will provide diverse administrative support to the Center for Research Informatics (CRI) staff. Primary responsibility will be assisting with the CRI help desk: working on user tickets; answering calls; creating tickets and forwarding to appropriate staff; and responding to questions. The candidate should feel comfortable assisting users over the phone and providing basic technical assistance when possible. You will be trained so that you are able to provide this support. Additional duties may include providing administrative assistance as needed. Please note: this will be a part time position for the academic year. Qualifications: General computer competence is a must, although candidates with computer science or technical background will be preferred. Extensive experience using Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel and Outlook) is required, and candidate should have a general aptitude for oral/written communications. Previous office and customer service experience is a plus.
Notes: The Center for Research Informatics (CRI) provides computational resources and expertise in biomedical informatics for researchers in the Biological Sciences Division of the University of Chicago. The CRI also provides a home for biomedical informatics research and educational initiatives; supports and coordinates cross-departmental research initiatives and activities; and advocates for biomedical informatics.
